Organising a short hybrid workshop made me think about the current state of academic conferences, especially from the point of view of their organisers. In this post I offer my thoughts on this topic and also explain a bit the technical aspects of our set-up.

The problem with the latest copyright directive

This is my view on the upcoming European copyright directive. It aims to punish Google, Facebook and other big internet companies and help the European newspapers and artists. The problem is that it achieves none of that and, on the other hand, it fundamentally breaks the internet.
